Christmas in Charleston

I am so incredibly excited to be back in Charleston, especially during the holidays! I always receive DMs asking for my Charleston recommendations so I thought it was time to put together some of my recommendations for spending Christmas in Charleston. This city has so much charm and is especially beautiful when all the lights and decor are up!

A Guide to Christmas in Charleston

The Dewberry Hotel Lights: I absolutely love the decor that the Dewberry puts up each year! The photos I included in this post were taken outside. If you are looking for a location for a cute Christmas card photo or even just a fun Instagram picture this is my recommendation! All the sparkle is so fun and truly brings a smile to my face every time I drive by. The Dewberry is located across from Marion Square and is a quick walk to King Street.

☆ Sippin Santa Pop Up Bar: I was walking down King Street the other day and came across this absolutely adorable pop up! Sippin Santa is a holiday cocktail pop-up that is a tiki theme. When you walk through the doors are you transported to such a festive getaway! It is right on King Street and a must if you are in Charleston this time of the year!

☆ James Island Festival of Lights: Each year James Island puts on a huge light display and just about everyone in Charleston goes each year. If you are a local or in town, I would highly recommend checking it out. There are hundreds of lights and there is something for the entire family. A perfect festive activity!

☆ Shopping on King Street: Finish up your holiday shopping on King Street. There are stores you can stop in for absolutely everyone on your list to pick up some last minute gifts or do some shopping for yourself!

☆ The Charleston Place Hotel: The Charleston Place Hotel is right on King Street and one of my favorite spots to walk through this time of the year. Inside you will be blown away with all the decor and the amazing train display. In their courtyard, they have it decorated just like you are at a Christmas tree farm. Completed with fake snow, truly a winter wonderland.

☆ College of Charleston Light Display: If you are in Charleston, I always recommend walking through College of Charleston. All of the historic buildings and homes are gorgeous but it is extra magical this time of the year. College of Charleston always puts up amazing decorations and so many beautiful lights.

☆ Holiday Parade of Boats: The Holiday Parade of Boats is happening on December 11th this year! If you are downtown and looking for something festive, I would definitely check it out! You can walk directly from King Street!
