Holy Crap, I cannot believe I am already sitting down to write my April Monthly Recap. This month has FLOWN by and has been filled with so much stuff. This week is my last week here on campus and I cannot believe this semester is coming to a close. I will have a recap of this semester on the blog soon. But this semester has probably been the hardest of my life. I’ll save all the details for the other post though. This month I have spent some time at home to celebrate Easter with my family and celebrate my 21st birthday. I also spent lots of time in my clinical placement and working on lots of final projects!
The month began with a trip back to Charleston for a long weekend for Easter. This semester has been draining so the time at home to relax with my family and sleep in my own bed was much needed. My family surprised me with the absolute sweetest birthday surprise when I walked in the front door. My mom, sister, and I went downtown for a girls shopping day and had so much fun window shopping. I treated myself to a Kendra Scott necklace for my birthday and soaked up all the Charleston sunshine. We had a lowkey Easter at home and it was honestly perfect. I am so grateful I still had an Easter break despite spring break being canceled.
To close out my Easter break, I celebrated my birthday with my family. I turned 21 and to be honest, I didn’t want to do anything crazy for my birthday. My family and I headed to brunch in Charleston at Eli’s Table. It was absolutely amazing, the food, atmosphere, and company! I will definitely be going back, hopefully soon! Unfortunately, I had to drive back to campus on my birthday because of a test first thing Tuesday morning. I did not want to come back. I got stuck in the WORST traffic on my way back but I’m so grateful I got back safely which is all that matters.
Once I got back to campus, I hit the ground running to finish up this semester. And let me just say, these past four weeks have FLOWN by. I finished up my clinical experience hours this month which was a big stress relief. It is crazy thinking back to January and stressing over how I would complete everything. Saying goodbye to my students was a lot harder than I thought it would be and I am just so grateful to have been placed with such a great clinical educator.
The end of the semester means lots of final projects and a whole bunch of papers. I have been sitting at my desk on my computer 24/7 typing away which is why I haven’t been very active on the blog or my social media platforms. Luckily, as I am writing this I only have a couple more small assignments and two tests left. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am gearing up to move back to Charleston for the summer!
My Monthly Favorites
This month has flown by but I do have quite a few monthly favorites to share! In March, I had to think about what my favorites were going to be but this month it was so easy to pick!
Makeup Remover Towels: I have seen these makeup remover towels for quite some time and have always wanted to try them. I found a set at T.J. Maxx recently and I have to say I am very impressed. I love how you can remove all of your makeup with just water. These are also so much better for the environment and are cost effective as well. I have been so impressed after using them for a month! I purchased mine from T.J. Maxx so I couldn’t find an exact link for them but I did link a VERY similar set to the ones I have!
Studded Sandals: If you have been following me on Instagram or reading my weekly college outfits of the week blog posts you would know that I have been obsessed with these sandals. I’ve worn them pretty much every day that has been warm enough and I cannot say enough good things about them! They are the perfect Steve Madden Dupe and under $30 which is a steal! I would recommend ordering your true size! These sandals are also extremely comfortable as well!
Distressed Denim Shorts: The weather has officially warmed up and I am so happy about it. I swear, I am the best version of myself when I can spend time out in the sun and my mental health is always just so much better in the summer. Being able to break my shorts back out is making me so happy but this pair has stolen the show. I love everything about these shorts, the wash, the distressing, and the fit. I haven’t shopped at American Eagle in YEARS but this year I couldn’t resist and I’ve already picked up quite a few pieces from them!
Kendra Scott Necklace: Like I said in my monthly recap, I bought myself my first Kendra Scott necklace as a birthday gift to myself. I have always loved them and finally purchased one using my birthday discount. I have been wearing this necklace so often and I love how it can be worn with a t-shirt and shorts or when you are all dressed up. They are pricey but with the birthday discount I think it is so worth it, especially because the quality is amazing!
