College Outfits of the Week | Volume 20

January 18, 2021

Wow, what a week it has been! Last Sunday feels like a month ago! I shared an outfits of the week and life update sharing how I was heading back to school for another semester and today I am sitting down to write this post back at home.

Yes, I am back home quarantining because I was exposed to Covid-19. It has been a wild week and I am sure the next week will have challenges as well. I was exposed on Friday and tested negative on Saturday. However, I am still quarantined until Thursday and at that point I will get retested. Hopefully I am still negative so I can get back to school but if not, more time in quarantine will follow. Luckily, I did pre-shoot content before leaving to go back to school because I do not have a steady photographer there. I will have content up this week but I ask you bare with me because who knows what could happen this week and next week.

Sunday

I had one last photoshoot in Charleston with my sister on Sunday to get ahead on some content and shoot a couple last minute outfits. It was such a nice day out and a perfect day to enjoy the gorgeous city. After the shoot, we headed home and I started the dreaded task of packing. I don’t know why but I absolutely hate packing to go back and forth from home and school. I spent the afternoon getting organized and getting groceries to prepare for heading back to campus. My parents, my sister, and I also had a nice family dinner and movie night together before I left. The sweater I wore today is AMAZING and one of my current favorites! It is from Apricot Lane Charleston. You can use the code MOLLYREF for 30% off your purchases!

Monday

I spent Monday running some last minute errands and getting a Covid test so I could move back into my college apartment. It was a very low key and laid back day. I spent the day just enjoying being home and soaking up one of my last days of winter break before classes started. It was a cold and dreary day in Charleston so I spent the majority of my day getting some computer work done and watching movies with my mom.

Tuesday

I was dreading Tuesday with everything in me. I had to head back to school and let me tell you, I did not want to go. Being home for the past two months was perfect and exactly what I needed. However, I could have used an extra week of break! I made the drive back and got all settled into my apartment for what I thought would be at least a month. The majority of my day was spent driving and unpacking. Once I finished, I showered and watched some Gilmore Girls in bed to finish off a long and emotionally draining day.

Wednesday

Wednesday was technically the first day of class at my university but I don’t have Wednesday classes this semester so I took the day to get myself and my planner organized for the new semester. I also picked up all my mail, printed out syllabi, and got a jumpstart on my two online courses this semester. I am in three in-person classes (+ a lab) and two online courses. As much as I was dreading coming back to school it did feel good to be back in my apartment again. I already know this Shep Shirt is going to be on repeat for me this winter! Katy from ColorMeKaty on Instagram customized it and I am OBSESSED!

Thursday

Thursday was my first day of class and I have yet another 8 am this semester so my day started bright and early. I am really excited about two of the three classes I had today and looking forward to what this semester has in store regarding my major. After class, I came back to my apartment and printed more syllabi and attempted to get organized again. I have been loving these faux leather leggings so much lately! They are so comfortable and I thought this was a perfect going to class outfit.

Friday

I met my dad for lunch on Friday because he was about two hours away from campus. We had such a good lunch and it was so nice to see him again. When I got back to campus, I went for a long walk around campus. Looking back on it, I am glad I did because that was my last time outside for the time being. My dad started showing Covid symptoms and ended up testing positive on Saturday so I went into quarantine. After my walk, I came back to the apartment, made some dinner, showered, and watched a movie in bed.

I am loving the headband trend and all things with pearls on them currently! This outfit is such a simple outfit but one I always feel put together and confident in. You’ve seen versions of it in previous outfits of the week posts and you will continue to see it!

Saturday

Saturday is when the sh!t hit the fan and every plan I had went out the window. I woke up to the call that my dad tested positive for Covid. Since I saw him yesterday I immediately scheduled a Covid test. I tested negative but for the safety of my roommates and college campus I came home to quarantine. My mom and sister also tested negative so they are quarantined together and I am quarantined separately from everyone else.

I don’t have an outfit photo for today because there was a lot on my mind yesterday and taking a picture was my lowest priority. I’m quarantining in my brother’s bedroom at home and don’t have a full length mirror in here so there will not be an outfits of the week post up next week. And I only packed sweatpants and t-shirts when I quickly packed so my outfits won’t be anything exciting. I am keeping my fingers crossed I remain negative and can get back to normal next week!
