Olive and June Press On System

The official Olive and June press-on nail review is finally here! If I’m being honest with you, I wasn’t all that excited when Olive and June announced the new Press-On Nails. I absolutely love my Olive and June polish + the mani system and wasn’t interested in switching up the system that I already love. However, I was intrigued by the instant nail art at home so I went ahead and gave the product a go.

Since I’m an Olive and June ambassador I received some Press-Ons and was excited to test them out before I invested in the product. Just as I say in every Olive and June dedicated blog post, even though I’m an ambassador, all opinions and thoughts are my own. I truly love Olive and June and I can honestly say I would still be talking about their products if I wasn’t an ambassador.

With that being said, if you purchase anything using my links I will make a small commission. You can use the code MOLLYM20 for 20% off any Olive and June system, which includes the Press-On System! Thank you SO much to everyone who shops through my links and uses my codes. It truly means the world to me!

Olive and June Press-On Nail Review

Over the past year, I’ve gotten so much better at doing my nails and it is 100% thanks to Olive and June. I also cannot recommend the mani bootcamp Olive and June hosts on their Instagram each month. I have truly learned so much from all the education Olive and June provides. They don’t just sell products, they educate all their customers on how to use them as well which I have loved. The Press-On System has been no different!

The Press-On nails come in four lengths: extra short, short, medium, and long. Personally, the short length is my favorite but you can file any nail down to the length of your choice. This is perfect if there is a design or color you love but not in the length you would prefer. Its important to note that the length of your nail bed will affect the length of the press-ons. There are also four shapes of nails: almond, round, squoval, and oval.

Each set of nails comes packaged with 42 press-on nails in 21 different sizes. I love the wide variety of sizes because it makes it that much easier to find your PERFECT size. When you are using press-ons that don’t perfectly fit your nails your nails they are more likely to pop off and Olive and June has eliminated this problem.

In your package you also will receive non-damaging and nontoxic glue, a wooden cuticle pusher, a 2-in-1 file and buffer, and a prep pad. So essentially, you are provided with everything you need to complete the Instant Mani at home without purchasing the system. I applied my first set of press-ons completely using the products that came with my nails and had no problems applying the manicure!

The Complete Press-On System

Even though you can apply the press-ons without the entire system, I would highly recommend purchasing the system. The complete system is much more price effective and provides you with all the tools you need for a seamless application and removal.

In the new carry-all pouch you will find the classic Olive and June straight-edge nail clipper, the nail file, nail buffer, and cuticle serum that come in the mani system. These are all products that I love from Olive and June and cannot get enough of so I don’t mind having duplicates around my house, in my car, and in my purse. However, keep in mind, you don’t necessarily have to buy the system if you already have these products. This is something I love about Olive and June, they aren’t going to sell you something that you don’t need.

In the carry-all pouch you will also find the NEW Gentle Mani Cuticle Pusher which I am SO excited about! You also receive a nail strengthener to keep your nails strong and healthy. I have been using the nail strengthener since April and I have seen the absolute biggest difference in my nails. They are so much stronger and now I rarely notice my nails peeling. To complete the system, you also will receive the Bye-Bye Press-Ons removal system. And of course, your choice of press-ons!

When shopping the system you will have the option to add on items to your order. I received the Press-Ons system for Christmas and was SO excited to get the Keep It Organized organizer! This is the cutest organizer to keep all your nails organized and in one place! I already have mine filled and love it! You can also add on Brush On Nail Glue. This is the same non-damaging glue that comes with your press-ons. However, this glue comes in a bigger bottle and has a brush to apply. I find this application is so much easier!

Another add-on option that you have is the cuticle remover which does come in the pedi system. I love using this product on my feet for pedicures but I haven’t used it on my hands yet. However, if you have a hard time managing your cuticles, this is a perfect add on for you! The final add on option are more sponges for the removal system.

Application and Removal

Now that we’ve talked about all the fun new products for your Press-On nails let’s talk about application and removal. First of all, I cannot stress enough, you’re going to want to watch the Press-On mani boot camp videos on the Olive and June Instagram. They are free to watch and the girls over at Olive and June will walk you through each and every step. I followed their tips and tricks and the application process was SO smooth.

My nails lasted for 8 days before I decided to take them off. I could have kept them on longer but I wanted to switch over to a Christmas Mani. However, I most definitely could have left the nails on longer and would honestly recommend leaving them on longer. The CEO of Olive and June recommends leaving them on for about 2 weeks and I would completely agree after testing them out. I don’t plan on removing the nails until I hit the 2 week mark next time. If a nail happens to pop off before then, I would recommend just applying another dot of glue.

While I had the nails on I was so worried it would be a nightmare washing my hair and everything would get stuck on the nails. I have used nail polish stickers before and hated them for this reason. However, this glue works wonders. The nail stayed on without any movement and I had no problems washing my hair which was a huge plus!

I was SHOCKED with how easy the removal process was. I opted for the hot soapy water method because I didn’t have the removal system yet and I want to be able to reuse my nails. Yes, you heard that correct. If you use the hot soapy water method to remove your nails, you are able to reuse the nails again! This was the selling point for me if I am being honest. I love that I can reapply my favorite nails just as I can reapply my favorite nail polish color.

If you use the Bye Bye Press-Ons removal system that comes in your press-on system you will not be able to reuse the press-ons. I found the hot soapy water method very easy to complete. I soaked my nails in hot water for about 15 to 20 minutes and the nails came right off without damaging my nails. The key to this is PATIENCE. Don’t try to rush the process or else you will damage your nails.

Overall, I have to say I love the press-ons which I was not expecting! I already know I will be switching back and forth between press-ons and polish. Something else I failed to mention is you can paint over press-ons and remove the polish without damaging the nail. The options truly are endless!

I love having the option of an instant manicure that is going to last without chips or a nail breaking for 10-14 days! It is basically a gel manicure without the crazy salon prices! I also finally can get cute nail art at home since I still need practice in that department!

If you’re looking for a way to save some money this year and do your nails at home rather than at the salon, this is the product I think you need to try! I still love the classic manicure system but I have to say, the press-on system has made it’s way onto my favorites list.

If you have any questions about the Press-On System that I didn’t answer please shoot my a DM on Instagram! I would love to chat and help you find the Olive and June System that is going to best work for you! Don’t forget, you can use my code MOLLYM20 for 20% off any Olive and June system! I cannot wait for you to test out the products that I love so much!
